Why St. Louis?
St. Louis, The Gateway City
St. Louis, Missouri was founded by French fur trappers in 1764. The land was prized due to its location on the Mississippi River and became a major port city in the early years of the United States. Explorers Lewis and Clark famously departed from St. Louis in 1804 to explore the newly acquired western land from the Louisiana Purchase from France.
Modern day St. Louis is known for its cuisine and vibrant culture. The city is made up of many distinct neighborhoods, each with its own flavor of life.
